The Department of Civil Engineering in association with the ISTE Kerala Section has started a technical talk series for the Civil Engineering students in our college. The first of its kind was conducted on 22 August, 2016 in the St. Alphonsa hall in Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally. Dr. Babu Alapppat, Professor from IIT Delhi was the guest speaker for the session.  Dr. Babu Alappat gave some wonderful and exciting ideas about the advancements in the Treatment techniques of municipal solid wastes during his talk. The audience comprised of final and pre-final year students and faculty of Civil engineering department. The talk ended with a question and answer session.

The Civil Cup has started with an eventful opening match between the Civil Faculty and the final year B. Tech students. The exhibition match was in the AJCE main ground on 10th August 2016. The knockout matches will be held for the next two weeks......So Boot up!!! Civil Faculty Team

A workshop was conducted on 30th July, 2016 by the Indian Concrete Institute Student Chapter of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally in Alphonsa Hall. The official meeting started at 2 PM in the afternoon. The event began with a prayer song after which ICI acting coordinator Asst. Prof. Danny Thomas welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Prof. Cyrus Minocher Dordi ( Adjunct professor in IIT Bombay) and Mr. Shelly S Fernandez, HOD of Civil Engg. Dept. Prof. Sr. Claramma Rosary, Mr. Aaron Thomas Varghese (ICI students Representative) and all others who had gathered for  the meeting and presented the ICI previous activities and Amal Jyothi College of Engineering participation. Next was inaugural speech by Fr. Rev. Jose Kannampuzha (Principal, AJCE). He motivated the students with his speech and advised them to make best use of the opportunity and requested the students to be concrete rather than being an abstract.
